How often do we pause long enough to recognize the small things, in day to day life, that we are truly grateful for? I don’t do it nearly often enough even though I have a small gratitude journal sitting on my desk.
Last week I got sick for the first time in nearly two years and suddenly I realized how much I had overlooked all the days I felt great. (Maybe a little sleepy on a lot of days, but in good health!)
On Monday as I was breezing through Google Reader I ran across a post from Lifehacker with a free service that immediately caught my attention. Grateful160 ~ simply brilliant! Some of us need the prompts that cause us to pause long enough to reflect back on the last few hours and what we may be grateful for. **If you’re going 1,003 miles per hour, you probably need the prompts like I do.**
Grateful160 will prompt you, up to four times per day, via email or text to record those little (or big) things. At the end of the week you get an email digest with the weekly list. (I haven’t gotten my first digest yet as I’ve been signed up for less than a week).
Are you a high achiever? Then challenge yourself to come up with more than one or two items at each prompt.
What are you grateful for?
PS: My first recorded entry on May 28, 2012 at 1:07 pm was: “I’m grateful that LifeHacker had a post about this service. Having email reminders will be much easier for me than writing in my little black book.”
PSS: I’m grateful for each and every one of my blog readers. Thank you!
